Welcome. What you will find here will be my random thoughts and reactions to various books I have read, films I have watched, and music I have listened to. In addition I may (or may not as the spirit moves me) comment about the fantasy world we call reality, which is far stranger than fiction.

Abraham Lincoln: a quotation
Let us discard all this quibbling about this man and the other man, this race and that race and the other race being inferior, and therefore they must be placed in an inferior position. Let us discard all these things, and unite as one people throughout this land, until we shall once more stand up declaring that all men are created equal.
Abraham Lincoln 1858
I wonder what he would think today after reading the headlines.

Great quote, Fred.
ReplyDeleteI think Lincoln would be quietly appalled. But he would probably also think that humans haven't changed much since his time.
Yvette,
ReplyDeleteI agree: appalled and disappointed, but probably not too surprised.
