It's time for a mental health and sanity check, as it's been too long since my last one. I need to reduce my time in front of the little screen. so I'm stopping all blogging and book discussion group activities for the time being. I'll be back when I'm back.
shoot... your blog is my home base on the web; but i understand what a trial and pain it must be to keep doing it all the time... much appreciate your past words and look hopefully to the future for more of the same... have a restful time and good luck whatever you do....

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what you mean by worthwhile. Is it worth reading? Yes, very much so. I have the hardbound copy of the Quintet or Quincunx, as it's sometimes called. I initially had five individual hardbound copies, but then I saw an almost brand-new (probably never been read) five novel omnibus edition for a very low price, and I jumped on it and got out of the store before they realized what a mistake they had made in pricing it.
But, since you've haven't read anything by Durrell yet, I'm not sure you should buy all five novels. I would recommend starting with the Alexandria Quartet first and then going on to the Quintet.
