Welcome. What you will find here will be my random thoughts and reactions to various books I have read, films I have watched, and music I have listened to. In addition I may (or may not as the spirit moves me) comment about the fantasy world we call reality, which is far stranger than fiction.

shoot... your blog is my home base on the web; but i understand what a trial and pain it must be to keep doing it all the time... much appreciate your past words and look hopefully to the future for more of the same... have a restful time and good luck whatever you do....
ReplyDeleteMudpuddle,
DeleteCheck out my response above to R.T. I just need to get some things in balance. And thanks.
R.T.,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words. I need some time away to get some time to regain balance. I'm also looking forward to read books and watch film without thinking of the blog and online discussion groups awaiting--just reading for reading.
R.T.,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what you mean by worthwhile. Is it worth reading? Yes, very much so. I have the hardbound copy of the Quintet or Quincunx, as it's sometimes called. I initially had five individual hardbound copies, but then I saw an almost brand-new (probably never been read) five novel omnibus edition for a very low price, and I jumped on it and got out of the store before they realized what a mistake they had made in pricing it.
But, since you've haven't read anything by Durrell yet, I'm not sure you should buy all five novels. I would recommend starting with the Alexandria Quartet first and then going on to the Quintet.
Enjoy your time off, Fred! See you when you return.
ReplyDeletemadamevauquer,
DeleteThanks. Bad pennies always return.
Sometimes we need some time away from the machines.
ReplyDeleteWith that, I am sorry to hear that you will be absent.
Take care!
Brian Joseph,
DeleteIt's been a long time without a break--time to re-create.
R.T.,
ReplyDeleteGot your new location. I will be in Lurk Mode mostly, but now and then. . .
