Down Time

It's time for a mental health and sanity check, as it's been too long since my last one.   I need to reduce my time in front of the little screen. so I'm stopping all blogging and book discussion group activities for the time being. I'll be back when I'm back.

    1. R.T.,

Thanks for the kind words. I need some time away to get some time to regain balance. I'm also looking forward to read books and watch film without thinking of the blog and online discussion groups awaiting--just reading for reading.

  3. Fred, is this one-day-only offer at Amazon worthwhile:
    https://www.amazon.com/Avignon-Quintet-Monsieur-Constance-Sebastian-ebook/dp/B0085IMY6W/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1485716263&sr=1-1&keywords=lawrence+durrell+avignon+quintet

    1. R.T.,

I'm not sure what you mean by worthwhile. Is it worth reading? Yes, very much so. I have the hardbound copy of the Quintet or Quincunx, as it's sometimes called. I initially had five individual hardbound copies, but then I saw an almost brand-new (probably never been read) five novel omnibus edition for a very low price, and I jumped on it and got out of the store before they realized what a mistake they had made in pricing it.

But, since you've haven't read anything by Durrell yet, I'm not sure you should buy all five novels. I would recommend starting with the Alexandria Quartet first and then going on to the Quintet.

With that, I am sorry to hear that you will be absent.

    Take care!

      It's been a long time without a break--time to re-create.
